I was a Team Maggie’s Dream grant recipient in 2020, and was so moved by this wonderful organization, that I wanted to be a part of it.
I’m a breast cancer survivor and I now volunteer my time helping other young adults about to go through a similar experience.
I’m originally from south Florida, a graduate of the University of Florida (Go Gators!), and I spent a decade as a news reporter before making the transition to PR, Marketing, and Communications.
I am now the Director of Corporate Communications for AAHOA, a trade association that represents hotels.
There is really no organization quite like Team Maggie’s Dream. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I had no time to waste before starting treatment. Most people can’t drop thousands of dollars on a dime for fertility preservation…and there’s no time to come up with the money.
Imagine being told you must start a certain kind of medication, but it might hinder your ability to have kids one day. It’s devastating for many people. This organization helps raise money so teens and young adults can afford to harvest eggs and bank sperm when insurance won’t cover it.
I’m excited to be a part of such an amazing organization and help see it grow!
