I was honored to be a Team Maggie’s Dream grant recipient in 2020. The support I received during such a difficult time had a profound impact on me, and it inspired me to stay connected to this incredible organization and give back in any way I can.

I am a breast cancer survivor and now volunteer my time supporting other young adults who are about to begin a similar journey. Facing a cancer diagnosis at a young age comes with unique emotional and practical challenges, and I’m passionate about helping others navigate that experience and feel less alone.

Originally from South Florida, I graduated from the University of Florida (Go Gators!). I spent a decade working as a news reporter before transitioning into public relations, marketing, and communications. Today, I am the interim VP of Marketing and Communications at Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, where I focus on storytelling and community engagement.

There truly is no organization quite like Team Maggie’s Dream. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, there was no time to wait before starting treatment. Many patients are told they must begin life-saving medication immediately, but those same treatments can affect their ability to have children in the future. Fertility preservation, such as egg harvesting or sperm banking, can cost thousands of dollars and often isn’t covered by insurance. Most people simply don’t have the time or resources to come up with that kind of money overnight.

Team Maggie’s Dream helps change that. By raising funds to support teens and young adults facing cancer, the organization makes fertility preservation possible for patients who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity. It provides hope during one of the most uncertain moments of a young person’s life.
