Bonnie Patel, MD is the Director of Fertility Preservation at CCRM-Atlanta. She joined CCRM in 2018 as a Board Certified Specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She previously also served as the Director for Fertility Preservation at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and established the fertility preservation program during her tenure. Dr. Patel completed her Fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Case Western Reserve University in 2015. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from University of Georgia in 2004, graduating summa cum laude with Highest Honors. She then completed her Medical Degree at the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta, GA in 2008. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Dr. Patel's clinical interests include oncofertility, assisted reproduction and minimally invasive surgery.

She has done extensive research in the field of reproductive medicine and has participated as a co-investigator on several grants, including an NIH-funded R01 grant at Wake Forest University, focusing on fertility preservation in adolescents and young adults. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles in the areas of oncofertility and reproductive medicine. She actively serves as a Reproductive Medicine PROLOG medical advisory/task force member for the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has also participated on the medical board and writing task forces for the American College of Physicians (MKSAP).

 

Dr. Patel is an active member of numerous medical organizations, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Society of Reproductive Medicine, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy, and the Georgia Obstetrics and Gynecology Society.
